Ecommerce becoming a habit for rural Indians

Online buying and selling have become common activities in India, as  per Ebay's 2012 Census  report. The site saw consumer activity from 4,306 towns across all states and Union Territories over the course of the 18-month study.

                                   Indians are now exporting to 201 countries, and imports have taken off as well.  Guntur (AP), Choryasi (GJ), Karthikapally (KL), Villupuram (TN) and Dindori (MH) were the most active  rural hubs, with mobile phone cases the most commonly traded product category. Smartphones  and wrist watches were the most imported products, while natural diamonds and salwar kameezes were exported the most.  

1.67 Petabytes of data were consumed by Indian mobile
web surfers between June and December 2012.
